Learn Perfect Pitch! Ear Training in your Sleep! Musicians!

I am offering a series of MP3 tracks (for free!) to learn how to better recognize music notes and help you with sight reading. Hope it will work for you. All you have to do is play all the tracks on your player or computer on the ‘random’ setting so you never know which note will be played next! Please send me feedback so I know how this method works for you.

Here is the latest question I got I found interesting:

(Sorry For The Question But do I have to Know the Note to listen to it
or if you just keep on listening to it and it just come to you
Thanks)

Answer:

There are many ways to use this.

I would not recommend it as the only thing to use as there are a lot of tools out there.

When you hear the note, you could try to guess each time but I find that tiring after a while.

The fact that I tell you where it is on the staff before naming it is to help you read music as well.

You don’t have to listen to this in your sleep either but if you can sleep through it at low volume, I can’t see why this would not help!

As I musician, so far, I find it has made it easier to find a note when I play my sitar.

As a singer, I am not sure but I think it is making me more aware immediately if I sound a bit flat.

Thanks for you question and good luck with it!

I am far from having perfect pitch! I have a very good ear though. This technique would be really helpful at improving relative pitch. I have not used it much lately! Good luck with it!

I just requested the tutorial and he sent them to me for free, this is NOT SPAM. It’s a very simple program so it’s feasible for beginners to use. I took lessons for 2 years
back in high-school and I think the tutorial is practical for intermediate vocalists
as well. Definitely check it out, it really is free so you have nothing to lose.

learing perfect …
learing perfect pitch does nothing for you as a musician-but good relative pitch does.

“You can’t ‘learn’ …
“You can’t ‘learn’ perfect pitch, it’s a natural ability” Not true, it’s a mater of learning and developing your hearing. Yes, some may be born with a hearing advantage - just like some singers are born with naturally more skilled voice. But, that doesn’t mean others cannot learn to develop or improve up to a more advantageous level of singing and or hearing. If you were born with perfect pitch but never studied music you would’nt know A from F#. It’s all relative to ones learning process.

It´s a big …
It´s a big differance between perfect pitch and the ability that Derek Paravinci has.He has perfect pitch, but he also got the ability to remember exactly how a piece was played. And that has nothing to do with pitchhearing. That´s more like having a photographic memory.I have worked with a couple of musicans that have perfect pitch.None of them could remember how to play a long musical piece after just listening to it one time.So I guess that they have to learn “perfect remembrance” also;)

I agree with you! …
I agree with you! And I love Earmaster Pro too as well! However, I have tried to help create a product that can help musicians in a way they don’t have to put much work into it. Hence the name Learn Perfect Pitch in your sleep. Thanks for your input though! :)

You can’t ‘learn’ …
You can’t ‘learn’ perfect pitch, it’s a natural ability. Watch Derek Paravinci - The Musical Genius here on Youtube, and you’ll understand. You could practice all your life, and maybe learn to recognize all the notes, but it is still different from the natural ability that we call perfect pitch. I also think it is more useful for a musician to learn to recognize intervals and chords instead of seperate notes. Look at EarMaster Pro 5, it’s a great tool.

perfect pitch is …
perfect pitch is not memorising notes, it’s getting an ear for it’s distinct quality. Once you discovered that quality in the tone you can in any instrument discover the note, you just say ah that’s a C. It’s like discovering how red is, then each time you see red somewhere you know it’s quality.

Well, It seems to give me a better awarness of where I am right now and seems to make it easier to reach for notes when I play my sitar. I wish it worked faster but I guess the secret is not giving up. I am sure amazing progress could be made within a year!

It seems to help but I am still not a musical genius! I am starting to be able to make really good calls when I hear the note as of where it will be on the staff though. I will try it for June and give another update.
